Your First Dance

When you walk onto the dance floor for that magical first dance, you want it to be memorable and unique to you.

What song played the night you met or the night you first kissed? Is there a song that has significant meaning to your relationship or one that you both really love?

Every year the list of popular songs is always changing. In 2019, the top five requests that Complete Weddings and Events had were “Amazed” by Lonestar, “The Way You Look Tonight” by Frank Sinatra, “All of Me” and “Stay with You” by John Legend, “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” by Aerosmith and “Unchained Melody” by The Righteous Brothers.

The list goes on

Several other popular songs include “At Last” by Etta James, “My Best Friend” by Tim McGraw, “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri, “Marry Me” by Train, “Can’t Help Falling In Love” by Elvis Presley (if you’re looking for a modern version, try Haley Reinhart’s!), “Everything” by Michael Buble, and the list continues.

If you are having a hard time finding the right song for you, ask your DJ for recommendations or research songs in a specific genre that you both love. Reed Beldin with Complete Weddings and Events in Rapid City says, “It’s hard to choose songs for couples as a DJ, because that is something that is so unique to each couple or parent. We can recommend a few, but the best thing is to do the research.”
