How We Met

Tallen and I have been together for 7 years when we got engaged we meet when I was a freshman in high school and he was a sophomore.  So yes, we are those high school sweethearts! When we meet we were on a church trip to New Orleans for a church trip/mission trip after hurricane Katrina. We took buses down with all the churches in the Black Hills. We stop on the way down and one of them was at 6 flags in St. Louis. I meet some friends to go ride the Batman rollercoaster and Tallen happened to be with them and we sat next to each other on the ride and the first thing he said to me was “Can I know your name before I die?” and we’ve been inseparable every since.

We got engaged 7/2/16 while camping with our friends for 4th of July. I always thought I would know when Tallen was going to propose because he’s not good at keeping secrets. It was a total surprise and at first, I thought he was joking until I saw the ring. It was the perfect moment at sunset by the lake.

Planning Our Day

Wedding planning came super easy to me I work part time at Audra’s for 3 years while attending nursing school, so I had all the timelines and everything figured out before our engagement. My dress was the first thing that I actually made a decision about besides the wedding date. I just knew no matter where the wedding was it would be perfect. Everything after that just fell into place. We never had any stressful events and everything came together as we imagined.

Wedding Hint

1st tip would be to hire a wedding a planner for at least day of coordination. This allows you to enjoy your day and if there are any questions or issues that arise there is someone there take care of things and keep you stress-free.

2nd tip don’t get caught up in the little details. If something doesn’t go the way you planned don’t let it ruin your day. Your wedding day goes by so fast you don’t need to be caught up in something that cant be fixed or changed. At the end of the day you are married and that’s what truly matters.

3rd tip take the week of your wedding off enjoy your time with family and friends that are coming from out of town. This allows you to relax and enjoy your wedding week with the people that mean the most to you.
