How We Met
We met at a young adults Bible study that was hosted by a mutual acquaintance who has since become one of our best friends.
Planning Our Day
Because my family lives across the country, it was hard for them to participate much in the planning, although my mom did as much as she could from afar. My parents came a week before the wedding and helped A LOT with the last minute preparations and decorations. My husband's family let us borrow a lot of items that we used for decorations, such as the milk cans and the horseshoe arch, which Chase's grandpa had made for one of his children when they got married. He has since passed on, so it was very special to get to use the arch and feel like he was part of our special day.
Wedding Hint
We did almost everything backwards compared to many people. We had the reception first — before the ceremony. We also did the dances in reverse order. It never made sense to me why the couple would dance first and then separate and go back to their parents. We did the mother-son dance, then the father-daughter dance, then the first couple dance last.
