The Farmhouse Barn
About The Farmhouse Barn
ABOUT THE VENUE
The Farmhouse Barn was built from a shared dream of providing a space for all to gather and celebrate. The Farmhouse Barn is an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Smell the fresh air and sage, enjoy the imagery of Bear Butte, our hidden canyon, and the valley of trees. This is a place to celebrate love at weddings, friendship and learning at workshops, and joy and family at special events.
THE WOMEN BEHIND THE BARN
Hello! I am Amy, a self-proclaimed lover of junk, reformed dump diver (yes, you read that correctly,) and proud curator of the Kountry Junkin’ Vintage Market. I am ready for the next adventure in my already crazy fun life!
I have held many titles in my 49 years of life. Those I hold the dearest are Wife (we’ve been married for 29 years), Mom, and Mimi. I am also a RN who spent 10 years of my nursing career as a hospice nurse and most recently as a part-time nurse in Cardiology. I have also spent the last 10 years dedicating myself to building my Kountry Junkin’ brand!
I started Kountry Junkin’ 8 years ago with the dream of someday having an event barn to call home for Kountry Junkin’. My husband and I bought our dream property 6 years ago and every.single.day, I envisioned that barn sitting in an open field on 20 acres and I am so excited to see that dream has become a reality by joining forces with another wife, mother, nurse, girl boss Savannah Horst.
Together, Savannah and I are the powerhouse team behind The Farmhouse Barn and event center.
Hi, I’m Savannah! I grew up in Spearfish, SD and have been married to my high school sweetheart for over 15 years. Together we have four very active boys.
I graduated from SDSU as a Registered Nurse and have worked for the VA hospital for over 16 years. Ever since I got married, I have had a great interest in helping others with their events, wedding planning, and decorating for those events. The passion has been there and growing for years!
In 2017 I chose to start pursuing my dreams outside of nursing which was being able to be home more with my boys and starting a side business of re-purposing furniture and creating custom designs! While working part time as a nurse, starting my new business has lead me to more freedom to push my limits and chase my dreams. Amy and I share the same dreams and goals and I am happy to be partnered together on our event barn.
