Your relationship is one-of-a-kind. Your wedding ceremony can be, too.
Your ceremony is at the very heart of your wedding day. It is an incredibly intimate moment between the two of you, and it happens in public, in front of the people you care about most. Ideally, your ceremony feels like you and reflects what’s important to you. It is not cookie-cutter or lock-step, where only the names have been changed.
Honor yourselves. Delight your guests.
Your wedding ceremony can be unique, personal, and deeply meaningful for you and your beloved. It can also be moving, beautiful, and fun for your guests. In fact, the ceremony itself can reflect all the care and thoughtfulness you’ve invested in the other details of your celebration.
A one-of-a-kind ceremony takes some thought and creativity, and you’ve already got a million details to manage for the big day. This is where I come in. I’m passionate about creating ceremonies, and I’ve been doing it for more than 20 years.
I’ll do the leg work.
I make the process as easy as possible. Once I learn a little about the two of you and your vision for the ceremony, I do the research and provide you with LOTS of options to choose from. I’m delighted to weave in your ideas and what we craft will respect and reflect your beliefs, whether they are completely secular, traditionally Christian, or somewhere in-between.
You get to choose.
You get to lead every step of the way: Want to give a nod to your heritage? I’ll find ways to make that happen. Want your children to participate? Absolutely. Tired of Unity Sand ceremonies? I’ve got a dozen more to choose from or we can invent something new! We’ll go back and forth, adding, deleting, and editing until the ceremony feels just right to you both. That’s the ceremony I perform.
I’ll be your guide.
When we work together, I guide you through the ceremony planning process. I conduct the rehearsal so that everyone can be relaxed and confident during the wedding. And I lead your ceremony – with calm presence and clear intention, bringing both my heart and my years of experience to your special day.
You should know:
~ I’m a girl who loves creating (or finding) new ideas and offering options, so I apologize right now for the possibility that I will overwhelm you with my enthusiasm.
~ I am detail oriented but very nice about it. At weddings, this often includes but is not limited to:
- bringing a copy of the ceremony with music cues highlighted so that DJ can follow along
- meeting with the photographer just before the ceremony to discuss special moments they will want to capture
- double-checking that your wedding party has their phones silenced, their gum or chew parked, and that someone has your rings
- making sure your unity ceremony is ready
- cueing, coaxing, and reassuring all participants
- answering last minute questions and whatever else shows up moments before the ceremony begins!
~ Premarital counseling is very valuable and I recommend it. But I don’t require it and I don’t offer it. Yet. (As a life coach, it seems like it would be a natural intersection of my two passions. I’ll keep you posted.)
~ I love being married and that shines through in every wedding I lead.
Make your ceremony the most meaningful and memorable part of your wedding day for both you and your guests.
