How many various people do you send out on location?

Ken Petersen operates Milestones as a “Single System Service Provider.”  From the initial contact to the conclusion of your event, you will be personally taken care of by the owner/operator. Promises and expectations are carried out by the one person you speak with.

What type of attire is worn?

Weddings are a formal function – even casual and rustic events have roots in a formal history. The attire Ken Petersen has chosen to wear are tailored, 3-piece suits in a variety of cuts and colors to accent your theme or choice of wedding colors.

What are your costs for the services provided?

Saturdays (April through October):  $2,500.00
Fridays and Sundays (April through October):  $2,100.00
Winter Weekend Weddings (November through March):  $1,750.00
Weekday Weddings (Monday through Thursday):  $1,250.00
(SD Sales Tax where applicable)

Is there a list of songs to choose from?

Couples that book with Ken Petersen are given their own password-protected wedding planning website. That website has a database of the 27-some thousand available titles. Approximately 13 tracks more are added each week as newer material is released.

What different styles of interaction you offer? 

Personality levels during your event will vary as the evening moves through the paces.  Ken Petersen will work with you to establish the style of environment that best suits you, as a couple, first. As the evening progresses the range of positive personalities will transition as the event calls. Ken is the Musical Host and Entertainer you hire when your personalities and tastes are more important than the DJ’s.

Do your fees include background music during dinner? 

Ken Petersen books the event as an “entire wedding function” – if it is reasonably expected to be done during the course of a wedding day, it’s in the rate.

Will the performer act as “Master of Ceremonies”? 

Ken Petersen has acquired the most hours of formal wedding Master of Ceremonies training in the region. Those duties of acting as your event’s voice are also designed to align with your personalities and styles. Ken personally meets with his clients as many times as they feel comfortable needing. This ensures a unique feel for your event is attained. Since Ken has been involved with wedding entertainment since 1999, coast to coast; why risk a one-chance-do-it-right day with someone hired just a couple months before your big day?

Do you have a cordless microphone available for use during speeches? 

At least two wireless hand-held microphones are available for the toasts, speeches and warm-wishes. Those microphones are also available throughout the evening as needs arise.

What is your philosophy towards weddings? 

Weddings today should be as unique as you are! Statements like, “that’s the way we always do it” are designed to squeeze your hopes, desires and wishes into a McWedding box. Ken Petersen takes the time to understand the “why” behind your wedding before even attempting to design the “how” and “what” will be going into the plan for the day.  Truth be told, from 10:00 PM to Midnight, all DJs are doing the same thing – the difference with Ken Petersen is the steps that are taken from the time you first reach out about your wedding until that magic 10:00PM time.

The only full-time, single-focused, formal events entertainer in the region.  Ken Petersen will spend more time ensuring your personality is designed into the event.  Ken will be onsite with you from the ceremony rehearsal until the hugs at the end of the night. Ken partners with you to make your day one that your guests will say, “That night was so much fun – it really was so you!”
