Kayla and Phil Rivera Engagement Announcement

Kayla Resick, daughter of Terry and Vicki Strang of Chamberlain , has become engaged to Phil Rivera, son of Phil and Corina Rivera of Apple Valley CA.

Proposal

Phil took Kayla on a hike the morning of her 30th birthday, April 10, to the Spring Creek and Sheridan Lake Trail. It was a beautiful morning for a hike. Phil kept looking at his phone to check the time the entire hike. When they got to the bridge that crossed over a piece of the lake, he got down on one knee and asked Kayla to be his wife. He said he couldn't imagine another day to go by without knowing that she would be his wife. He cried, Kayla cried, and Chica gave them lots of kisses. 
As they started their way back to the truck, 15 of Kayla and Phil's closest friends showed up. Phil had the whole surprise planned, even though they should have been social distancing.

How They Met

Kayla moved to Rapid City in July of 2018. Phil and Kayla met at a mutual friend's bbq. Phil convinced Kayla to join the CrossFit gym he goes to. The rest is history!
