Our Love Story

When I met Josh I knew we had something special and when we were planning our wedding we knew it had to be just as special as our relationship. We got married in Custer, SD surrounded by our family and friends under thousands of twinkling lights in one of the most beautiful places in the country, the Black Hills.  Our wedding was very DIY…all the details, including decorations and flowers, were done by us with the help of family and friends.  We knew we wanted a beautiful wedding that told a story people would never forget.  Josh being a musician, it was important to have every song tell our story.  The ceremony was short and sweet and featured our 4 kids doing a planting ceremony with us. When it came to the reception our goal was simple, we wanted all the people we love the most in one place to share in the party of a lifetime. This is why we chose a campground venue, so everyone
could celebrate to their hearts content.  The dance floor was constantly full of people of all ages dancing like nobody was looking…it was a moment in time no one will forget.
Our guests are still talking about the perfection of our day. Proof that you don't have to go in to debt to have a beautiful, enchanting wedding.

How We Met

We met online, and when we finally met in person we knew we were each other's person….our souls needed each other..like the missing piece of a puzzle finally found

Planning Our Day

We wanted people to be enchanted and live in our love story for a day so we spent a year searching discount racks and second hand stores collecting items we knew we wanted to use.  Twinkle lights, lanterns, vintage vases, and flowers.  We spent many hours handpainting all of our signs on barnwood.  For the music we wanted a DJ that would cater to our love of music and karaoke.  In our opinion the venue and photographer was the most important part….after all, when everything is said and done the photos and memories are what you get to keep.

Wedding Hint

Once your vision is realized, utilize social media, second hand stores, and online to find your perfect pieces to include in your decorations.
When searching for a photographer…pay attention to their use of light and artistic ability that suits your style of how you want your story captured
And above all else… remember, It's your day..make it perfect for you as a couple.  If you are enjoying it, everyone else will too.
