Alayna and Tyler Montgomery Wedding Story
Saturday, July 1, 2017
The Day started out with us waking up at our Hotels. Tyler was at the Grand Gateway and I was at The Hotel Alex Johnson Bridal Suite. Amy from Legacy Photography and Ryan Becker our videographer came bright and early to capture us getting ready. I was having my hair done by Noell from Magic touch salon and a make-up artist from Mystique Edge come in to do my make-up. Everything was going perfectly and the morning couldn't have been more beautiful! My four older sisters, Maid-of-honor, best-friend, mother, mother-in-law and sister-in-law were in the suite helping me get ready, while my baby daughter was on the king sized bed sleeping soundly. After getting ready Tyler and his groomsmen had breakfast at Perkins, and all of us girls went down to the Alex Johnson Lobby and Lincoln room to take pictures. While waiting for the limousine, we went to Patty's to have a drink to calm my nerves. My father picked up the flowers from Susan from Roots floral and had them waiting in the car with the A.C blasting. After the limo arrived from Legendary Limousine, we all hopped in and enjoyed some Champaign while driving up to Echo Valley Park Campground in Custer. The drive was amazing, my sisters and I talked and took pictures while my mother sat quietly trying to hold back her tears. As we got to the campground were the tent for the reception and ceremony was held, my nerves started to grow. Everyone had arrived and all the vendors were set up. As I waited in the limo until the ceremony started, I couldn't help but think how beautiful the park looked. There were eagles flying above us, and I know that was a good sign, because in my culture (Native American) eagles are always a good sign for luck. The time drew near and my father walked calmly towards the limo to open the door for my bridesmaids and I. my bridesmaids walked down the aisle followed by my niece pulling my daughter in a beautiful white wagon. After that it was my turn. My dad held out his hand and tears built up in my eyes while he looked at me and smiled. I stepped out of the limo and walked slowly down the aisle to the song Somewhere Over the Rainbow. After walking down the aisle I looked up to see my future husband smiling sweetly at me, all nerves went away and all that was left was love. Tyler held my hand and rubbed it softly only assuring me that from this point on...we were forever.
How We Met
Tyler and I met in high-school. I was asked out on a date by one of his friends. I only agreed because I didn't want to hurt his feelings. Luckily, Tyler was asked to come along and I was relieved, knowing that someone else was going to be there. Little did I know, Tyler had paid for the entire meal. After dinner, we went to a gathering at a friends house were Tyler and I talked for hours getting to know each other. I knew right away that there was something interesting about him. we couldn't stop starring at each-other. After a couple of months of dating, I knew from the bottom of my heart that this was going to be the guy I'm going to marry. It's been nine years and still get butterflies whenever I see him.
Planning for Our Day
planning our wedding was easy, all thanks to the professional vendors that we hired. Audras Bridal Gallery helped me find the perfect dress, I will never forget how Shayla understood my style and accommodated it. Table 4 Décor created an amazing vision of how my wedding was going to look, the interactive showroom made it easy to come up with the perfect design and décor. Amy with Legacy Photo was so easy to work with, from engagement photos to wedding photos, she knew exactly how to capture the love between Tyler and I. Jason from Powerhouse was so organized and helped my wedding flow beautifully, because of him everyone knew what to do and when to do it. Andrea from Anything's Possible served the best roast beef and cheesy potato casserole any one has ever tasted, I am still dreaming about it. Susan from Roots Floral has a vision of flowers that any florist would love to have, the little touches of feathers she added in the bouquets brought tears to my eyes. Savanna from copy country created save-the-dates, invitations, and place cards that had dream-catchers imprinted on them to help capture my culture, she was super easy to work with. Ryan Becker from R. Becker Creative went over and beyond to videoing little details leading up to the wedding along with the wedding. Black Hills Receptions provided a tent for the reception and a tent for the caterer, the staff new what they were doing while setting up the tent and they were very timely about it. Neugebauer's Fine Jewelry, helped Tyler design the perfect ring for me, I stare at it every day still. Echo Valley Park Campground was so nice, they allowed us to set up three days before the wedding with no extra cost. The park was near Crazy Horse and in a meadow where our guests could enjoy the nature of the Black hills. Kim from Star Spangled Batter built the best looking cake a girl could ever ask for, the cherry blossoms she added on the cake and cupcakes tied in beautifully with the décor. Legendary Limousine had a very professional driver, and the black and light pink napkins they provided in the champaign flutes worked so well with the theme of the wedding. Noell from Magic touch salon has a talent of styling hair that goes beyond what I could have ever imagined, and mystique edges make-up artist is seriously the best in town, I showed her a picture and she nailed it.
Hint for Brides
If I could tell brides anything, it would be to hire professional vendors in all aspects of the wedding. I don't think my wedding would have gone so perfect without all the vendors that were involved in my wedding. It is easy to pick out the best vendors by simply picking up a Black Hills Bride Magazine and reading through it. All vendors are listed. I had now worries on the day of my wedding because of these vendors.
