2017 Trash the Dress: Mommy's Closet

Dress by Volunteers of America Mommy's Closet

About the Dress

Oftentimes, the women we see in our program have darkness in their past; they come to us broken and often having a bad day with little resources to care for their children.

Their children signify hope and the light (yellow), breaking through the darkness takes a lot of hard work but often we see resilience in mothers who want a brighter future for their children. Therefore, you see the colors in the dress where finally there is light, signifying that we can overcome obstacles like poverty and abuse!
